Flexible Paint & Colour Guide

Getting the right paint on your RIB or inflatable dinghy is essential…
Choose from the Polymarine Paint Colour Chart, all available at www.polymarineshop.com

Top performance under marine conditions is a tall order for many brands that just cant live up to the lasting reputation of Polymarine products. You dont just have to take our word for it, ask around, for example Practical Sailor said,

“Inflatable boats have a long list of bonuses, but eternal life is not one of them. The harsh effects of UV exposure, frequent use, and operating in polluted waters all take their toll on inflatable boats, whether they are PVC or Hypalon. Proper maintenance and frequent washing with a good dinghy cleaner help keep grime, oxidation, and organic fouling (barnacles, slime, etc.) to a minimum, but eventually, a new paint job may be needed. Topside paints for inflatable boats, in general, have a poor reputation for durability. Practical Sailor checked out a selection of coatings for inflatable fabrics to see which one would best stand up to the tests of time on the water—and under the sun.

  1. I am painting a logo on a army trucks camo canvas. It is about 15 years old. It seems to have a rubberized layer on top. I don’t think it is PVC. I was looking to use the liquid letters on it. Any recommendations, prep, layering, etc would be appreciated. Thanks.

  2. Liquid letters is ideal for rubberised fabrics, however, it’s important to know your fabric as Liquid Letters should not be used on PVC, only letterflex PVC paint. See our ‘is it Hypalon (rubber) or PVC guide’.
